Mlr7818: Efflux ABC Transporter Involved in Antibiotic Resistance in Bacteria
Mlr7818 is a protein belonging to the ABC transporter family, involved in the efflux of antibiotics from bacterial cells. This protein consists of two domains: a permease domain responsible for substrate transport and an ATP-binding protein domain responsible for ATP binding and hydrolysis. It has been found in several pathogenic bacteria, including multidrug-resistant strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
