Endophytic actinomycetes isolated from medicinal plants have potential as biocontrol resources against Fusarium wilt of banana caused by Foc TR4. Streptomyces hygroscopicus subsp. hygroscopicus 5-4, isolated from roots of Piper austrosinense, exhibited broad-spectrum antifungal activity and could be used as a potential biological agent for controlling the disease.
