Nursing to Public Health: My Journey to Fudan University

Good morning/afternoon, professors. My name is XXX and I am a nursing undergraduate student from Bengbu Medical College. It is my great honor to be here today to interview for the Public Health and Preventive Medicine program at Fudan University.

As a nursing student, I have gained a solid foundation in medical knowledge and clinical skills. During my four-year undergraduate study, I have completed a series of theoretical and practical courses, such as Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Medical Psychology, and Nursing Skills. I have also participated in clinical practice in various departments, including Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Emergency Medicine. These experiences have given me a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare system and the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration.

However, I believe that there is still so much more to learn and explore, especially in the field of public health and preventive medicine. With the rapid development of society and the increasing demand for health services, it is crucial to prevent diseases and promote health at the population level. Therefore, I decided to pursue a master's degree in this field to broaden my horizons and deepen my knowledge.

I am confident that Fudan University is the best choice for me to achieve my academic goals. The university has a first-class faculty and research environment, as well as a strong reputation both domestically and internationally. I am particularly interested in the research areas of health policy, health promotion, and disease control, and I hope to contribute to the advancement of public health in China and beyond.
