Jiamusi: A Small City in Northeast China with Rich Culture and Warm People

My hometown is Jiamusi, a small city located in the northeast of China's Heilongjiang province. Jiamusi is situated in the heartland of the Sanjiang plain, where the Songhua River, Heilongjiang River, and Wusuli River meet. The land here is fertile and produces abundant rice. It is also the main settlement area of the Hezhe ethnic minority. For a long time, the Hezhe people made a living by fishing and hunting, using fish skin to make clothes and art. Fortunately, this traditional handicraft has not become a relic in museums but has been passed down. Jiamusi has distinct seasons, and the children here love winter the most because they can see ice lanterns, have snowball fights, and skate. I love my hometown. The buildings here are not densely packed, and the sky is clear and high everywhere. I also love the people here. Everyone is very talkative, and even strangers can chat on the street. When I was studying abroad, I often missed my hometown, but more so, I told myself not to forget to be as sincere and kind as my family and hometown people.
