Jiamusi: My Hometown in Northeast China

My hometown is Jiamusi, a small city nestled in the northeast of China's Heilongjiang Province. It's located in the heart of the Three Rivers Plain, where the Songhua, Heilongjiang, and Wusuli Rivers converge. This fertile land is famous for its abundant rice harvest. Jiamusi is also home to the Hezhe people, one of China's ethnic minorities. For generations, they've relied on fishing and hunting for their livelihood. They're known for their unique skill in using fish skin to create clothing and beautiful handicrafts. Thankfully, this tradition is still thriving, not just confined to museums. Jiamusi enjoys distinct four seasons. Winter is a favorite among the children, who love to watch ice lanterns, have snowball fights, and go ice skating. I adore my hometown. The buildings aren't clustered together, allowing for clear, vast skies to be seen everywhere. I also cherish the people here - they're friendly and talkative, always willing to chat with strangers on the street. When I'm studying away from home, I often miss Jiamusi. But even more, I remind myself to stay true to the sincerity and kindness that I learned from my family and friends back home.
