The electrochemical surface area (ECSA) of the electrocatalysts was estimated using the double-layer capacitance (Cdl) determined through cyclic voltammetry (CV). This electrochemical technique was employed to elucidate the factors contributing to the enhanced intrinsic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) activities observed. By analyzing the Cdl values, insights into the relationship between ECSA and the improved HER kinetics of the electrocatalysts can be obtained.
