HSV Centroid Distance Method for Color Retrieval: Early Research

The earliest English literature on color retrieval using the HSV centroid distance method is not clear. However, one of the earliest papers on color retrieval using HSV color space is 'Color image retrieval using combined color and texture features' by R. Manmatha and R. Kasturi, published in 1996 in the Proceedings of the International Conference on Image Processing.
