Alternative Geodesic Distance: Comparing Tie Strength Between Tom-Michael and Jason-Michael
Using the Alternative Geodesic Distance (AGD) method, we determine tie strength by identifying the shortest path between two nodes and summing the weights of all nodes along that path.
For the path (Tom - Michael), the shortest path is Tom - John - Michael, with a total weight of 2.
Similarly, for the path (Jason - Michael), the shortest path is Jason - John - Michael, also with a total weight of 2.
Therefore, based on the AGD approach, the tie strength between (Tom - Michael) and (Jason - Michael) is equal, both being 2.
