Cargo Ventilation Inconsistencies and Inadequate Frequency: A Case Study
Based on the crew information, ventilation was carried out in accordance with the three-degree rule. This rule requires ventilation when the outside air's dry bulb temperature is at least 3ᄚC cooler than the average cargo temperature during loading. Cargo temperature is measured during loading and remains constant thereafter. However, the ventilation record provided by the crew shows inconsistencies in cargo temperature. The crew acknowledged that some data were entered incorrectly and promised to provide a corrected version.
Moreover, we observed that ventilation was only done during daytime, which may not be adequate according to the receiver's standards.
