Cross-Sectional Data Analysis: Applicability and Limitations of Panel Data in Time Series

Cross-sectional data is highly appropriate for analysis, yet the computation of panel data within the context of time series analysis is limited in its explanatory capacity. While cross-sectional data provides a snapshot of a population at a specific point in time, panel data allows for the observation of the same units over multiple time periods. However, the ability of panel data to explain changes over time can be constrained by factors such as data availability, model complexity, and the presence of unobserved heterogeneity.
