Cargo Inspection Report: Mold, Poor Flowability and Elevated Temperatures Found in Tianjin Port Silos

At the request of the consignee, we visited the silos located at the Tianjin port to carry out a cargo inspection. Present at the inspection were Mr. Sun, the representative of the consignee, Mr. Li, who was the loss adjuster for the consignee, Mr. Li, the surveyor for the charterer, and Mr. Lu, our surveyor. The terminal informed us that around 4,000 tons of cargo from our vessel were still stored in silos No. 10 and 12 at the time of the inspection.

Upon entering silo No. 10 through the middle inspection port, we observed that the cargo was moldy and had poor flowability, which required manual assistance to flow. Moreover, we noticed that the cargo had formed clumps near the walls of the silo. We randomly measured the surface temperature of some cargo piles and found that it was as high as 44 degrees, while the external temperature was approximately 18 degrees at the time.
