High Moisture Content in Soybeans Impacts Production of High-Protein Soybean Meal

During a discussion with the production team, concerns were raised about the high moisture content in the current batch of soybeans and its impact on high-protein soybean meal production. Ideally, producing 45% protein soybean meal requires a 6:4 ratio of good to bad beans. However, the current batch exhibits a 3:7 ratio, resulting in the production of only 43% protein soybean meal.

Adding to the challenge, the current batch of beans has a high moisture content, exceeding 14% in general and even reaching 15.1% in some cases. This significantly reduces the daily processing volume from the usual 4,100 tons per day. Consequently, various consumption rates have increased, although the production team claims to be unaware of the specific statistical data on consumption. This situation highlights the critical need to address the high moisture content in soybeans to optimize production efficiency and ensure the desired protein content in the final product.
