Research and Development of Virtual CNC Milling Machine Simulation System

Abstract: This paper utilizes virtual reality technology to design a virtual CNC machine simulation system, aiming to solve common problems in CNC teaching. Firstly, the framework of the system is designed, using Unity 3D as the virtual development platform and Solid-Works as the geometric modeling tool, to complete the construction of models, rendering, and design of the user interface. Secondly, key technologies such as NC code compilation, collision detection, and material removal algorithms are analyzed to achieve dynamic simulation of the machining process. Then, a machining trajectory simulation method is proposed to help students understand and apply CNC programming and undergo skills training. Finally, in order to validate the feasibility of the proposed method, a prototype development is carried out using the HASS VF-2YT CNC milling machine as an example.
