The casting position was chosen to have the large plane facing upwards, with the high-precision dovetail slide surface facing downwards. The internal gating system was set at the bottom and top surfaces of one end of the casting in the longitudinal direction, using a stepped and inclined pouring method. A riser was set at the highest point of the inclined pouring position to facilitate slag collection and gas removal. A cold iron was placed at the thicker part of the large plane to ensure the quality of the crystal formation. A tube-shaped core was buried in the main core to facilitate air removal and casting process. Production has shown that this casting process not only guarantees the quality requirements of the bottom dovetail slide surface and the top large plane, greatly reducing the amount of post-processing work, but also simplifies the mold and has a high yield rate.
