Compact and Rugged Side-Pumped Laser Head Design with Diffusive Optical Reflector

This study introduces a novel design for a compact and rugged side-pumped laser head, achieved by utilizing a ceramic diffusive optical reflector (DOR). As illustrated in Fig. 1, the laser head comprises a Tm,Ho:YAG rod, a glass flow tube, a DOR, and three pump modules. The design specifically eliminates guiding elements to minimize the potential for extra optical loss. This strategic omission not only contributes to the laser head's compact and rugged nature but also significantly enhances its ease of adjustment.
