High-Power 2.09 μm Tm,Ho:YAG Laser with Compact Configuration
We report a high-power continuous-wave laser diode-pumped 2.09 μm Tm, Ho:YAG laser with a compact configuration. A Tm, Ho:YAG (3 at.% Tm3+, 0.12 at.% Ho3+) rod is side-pumped by three pump modules packed in a miniaturized laser head. With a flat-flat short cavity, a maximum 50.6 W output power is obtained at a cooling temperature of 19℃. To the best of our knowledge, this is the highest output power of diode-pumped all-solid-state 2.09 μm Tm, Ho:YAG laser. The corresponding optical-to-optical efficiency is 10%, with a slope efficiency of 17.2%. This system is capable of maintaining power stability over a long period of time, making it a dependable laser source for generating mid- and far-infrared radiations.
