Understanding Second-Order Events and Health Insurance
Second-order events refer to events that can be inferred based on the probability of past occurrences. These events may or may not occur in the future, but are possible based on this probability. For example, at my age, if I want to buy health insurance, I need to estimate my basic physical condition and provide an accurate valuation of the likelihood of having a stroke or heart attack. Different basic conditions will result in different insurance prices, and events that may occur based on probability can be addressed through insurance mechanisms.
