During the cleaning and repair period, we maintained regular telephone communication with the workers and crew members and provided appropriate suggestions for cleaning procedures. According to the information provided by the crew, they discovered that the bilge well was filled with fuel after cleaning the cargo hold tanktop. We advised the workers to first remove the fuel and then treat the pipelines by soaking them with a mixture of oil dispersant. They were instructed to continuously replace the contaminated dispersant until all traces of oil were eliminated. Afterwards, the pipelines were to be rinsed with clean water. All the contaminated oily water was required to be sent ashore for proper treatment.

On July 27th, when we conducted an inspection, we found that the bilge well had been thoroughly cleaned and there were no noticeable oil traces. The crew also inspected the internal filters by opening the pipelines and confirmed that there was no contamination. However, a small amount of oil residue was still present in the surrounding area of the hatch. To address this, the workers continued the cleaning process using a mobile platform. Finally, the cleaning work was completed at 0800 on July 28th.
