The new round of technological development and industrial revolution has brought development opportunities to financial and economic colleges, while also demanding higher professional knowledge and competence in talent cultivation. This study takes the Smart Logistics Experimental Class in the new financial and economic education reform at Hebei University of Economics and Business as an example to explore the cultivation of new financial and economic talent competence based on market demand. By conducting interviews with multiple logistics employers to understand the demand for talent competence and researching the situation of logistics management talent cultivation in multiple universities, this study aims to develop a competence model for talent cultivation in the Smart Logistics Experimental Class based on market demand, competence model theory, and analysis. It is recommended to reconstruct the training objectives, establish a diverse knowledge system, cultivate a sense of patriotism and national pride, and provide practical skills to build a path for the cultivation of new financial and economic talents
