Lime Whitewash Discrepancy Found During Cargo Hold Inspection

During a cargo hold inspection, the crew informed us that they had applied a lime whitewash to the cargo hold wall/tanktop prior to loading. We observed white traces resembling a lime coating on the cargo hold wall, confirming their statement. However, a significant discrepancy arose when reviewing the cargo hold inspection report conducted by the shipper, exportadora de sal, S.A. de C.V., before loading. This report, which was already submitted to the cargo underwriter surveyor prior to our attendance, made no mention of the presence of a lime whitewash. Notably, the crew did not provide any photos or instructions from the shipper or charterers regarding the lime whitewash, except for their initial statement.
