The English Proficiency Test (EPT) Level 4, also known as the English Major Four-Level Exam, is a standardized test used to assess the English proficiency of students majoring in English in Chinese universities. The test is administered by the Ministry of Education and is taken by students in their third or fourth year of study.

The exam has four sections: listening comprehension, reading comprehension, writing, and translation. The listening comprehension section consists of multiple-choice questions and lasts for 30 minutes. The reading comprehension section consists of multiple-choice questions and lasts for 60 minutes. The writing section requires students to write an essay in response to a given topic and lasts for 60 minutes. The translation section requires students to translate a passage from Chinese to English and lasts for 60 minutes.
