Abstract:

This paper mainly studies a copper badge inlaid with turquoise and beast-face pattern. The copper badge is a work of the Tang Dynasty, using inlaying technology, inlaying multiple turquoise on the copper badge, forming the beast-face pattern. The copper badge has exquisite shape and superb craftsmanship, reflecting the high-level craftsmanship and artistic achievements of the Tang Dynasty.

This paper first introduces the application history and characteristics of turquoise in traditional Chinese crafts, and then elaborates on the copper-making techniques of the Tang Dynasty. Then, the paper analyzes and studies the shape, craftsmanship, and patterns of the copper badge in detail. Through analysis of its material, shape, decoration, and craftsmanship, it reveals its artistic characteristics and historical and cultural background.

Finally, this paper expounds the value of the copper badge. The copper badge is not only an artwork but also a historical relic, with high collection value and research value. It is of great significance for studying the copper-making techniques, artistic style, and historical and cultural background of the Tang Dynasty.
