Insufficient Lime Whitewash in Cargo Hold: Discrepancy in Inspection Reports

During our inspection of the cargo hold, we observed white traces resembling lime coating on the bulkhead and plating. However, the crew's claim of applying lime whitewash to the cargo hold plating and tank top before loading is questionable due to the insufficient thickness of the coating. This raises serious concerns about the adequacy of cargo protection.

Adding to the concern is a discrepancy between our findings and the pre-loading cargo hold inspection report. This report, already submitted to the cargo underwriter surveyor, stated that no lime whitewash was present. This discrepancy necessitates further investigation to determine the cause of the inconsistency and ensure the cargo's safety during transport.
