Cargo Damage Claim: Consignee Delayed Notification

The consignee has reported that cargo from the subject container was destroyed in January of this year. However, they did not inform us of the damage at that time. The consignee stated that they were unsure if the carrier would be held liable for the damage because the shipper handled subsequent cargo claims.
