Soybean Discharge and Storage Inspection: Observations and Findings
At the time of our attendance, three gangs were still discharging cargo from No. 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7 cargo holds. The cargo was dislodged using shore cranes with grabs and transferred to trucks via a hopper. The trucks then transported the cargo to either the silos or warehouses. Before entering the storage facilities, the cargo was weighed on a weighbridge. The receiver expressed concern that the top layer of cargo in No. 4 hold was more severely affected than the others, and therefore, these cargoes were stored separately from the rest. According to the weight certificate, a total of 1677.1 Mt of soybeans were picked out and stored separately in No. 206 warehouse. The remaining cargoes were stored in No. 203 warehouse and the silos.
