Lime Whitewash Thickness Inadequate in Cargo Hold - Inspection Discrepancy

During a recent cargo hold inspection, we found a discrepancy regarding the application of lime whitewash. The crew informed us that they had applied a lime whitewash to the cargo hold wall/tanktop prior to loading. However, upon inspecting the cargo hold, we noticed white traces on the wall that appeared to be a lime coating. Based on our experience, the thickness of this coating seemed inadequate.

It is important to note that the cargo hold inspection report conducted by the shipper, exportadora de sal, S.A. de C.V., prior to loading, did not mention the presence of a lime whitewash. This report was submitted to the cargo underwriter surveyor before our attendance. This raises concerns about the completeness and accuracy of the initial inspection.
