Title: Determination of certain substances in electrotechnical products - Part 5: Cadmium, lead and chromium in polymers and electronics and cadmium and lead in metals by AAS, AFS, ICP-OES and ICP-MS
Abstract: This part of IEC 62321 specifies the screening of the following elements: cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb) and chromium (Cr) in polymers and electronics and cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) in metals by four test methods: AAS (atomic absorption spectroscopy), AFS (atomic fluorescence spectroscopy), ICP-OES (inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry) and ICP-MS (inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry). This part of IEC 62321 also specifies sample preparation methods, including the acid digestion method, the microwave digestion method and the hot block digestion method. This part of IEC 62321 does not apply to cadmium, lead and chromium in glass, ceramics and other non-polymers or non-metals.
