Vehicle Inspection Reveals Low Fuel Levels and Deactivated Battery Safety Switches

During a routine inspection of vehicles prior to loading onto a vessel, we discovered two critical safety concerns. Firstly, the fuel levels in most vehicles were nearing depletion, as indicated by the dashboard gauges. This highlights the importance of ensuring vehicles are adequately fueled before transport to avoid potential delays and complications. Secondly, while all vehicles were equipped with dedicated battery safety switches, designed to be activated by the stevedore once the vehicle is secured on the vessel, every switch was found to be in the 'off' position. This oversight could lead to potential electrical hazards during transport and underscores the necessity of strict adherence to safety protocols during vehicle loading and transportation.
