Vehicle Inspection Report: Fuel Levels and Battery Safety Switches
During a routine inspection of vehicles being loaded onto the vessel, we identified two key observations. Firstly, the fuel level in the vehicles' oil tanks was checked via the dashboard and found to be nearly depleted. Secondly, while each vehicle is equipped with a dedicated protective switch for the battery, which the stevedore is responsible for closing once the truck is securely in place, we found that all switches were in the 'off' position on the vehicles already loaded. This discrepancy in the battery safety protocol needs to be addressed immediately to ensure the safety of the vessel and its cargo.
