Seawater Discharge Violation: Vessel Faces Fine After Crew Cleans Deck

A vessel's crew is facing potential fines after they were observed discharging seawater used for cleaning the hatch cover and deck into the sea. The incident occurred on the starboard side stern of the vessel. The crew of a nearby vessel witnessed the discharge and promptly documented the event by capturing photos and videos. They subsequently reported the incident to the Maritime Safety Administration (MSA), providing their real names and evidence. As a result of the report, an MSA officer is now considering imposing a fine on the vessel in question for potential violation of maritime environmental regulations.
