An Empirical Analysis of the Divergent Growth Trajectories in New First-Tier and Second-Tier Cities Post-2015

This research examines the developmental trajectories of new first-tier and second-tier cities over a defined period. Empirical evidence indicates a clear upward trend in both city tiers. However, a notable divergence emerges post-2015, with new first-tier cities exhibiting a considerably more pronounced growth trajectory compared to their second-tier counterparts. This accelerated growth in new first-tier cities has resulted in a significant widening of the gap between the two tiers.
