Shifting Spring Frost Risk in the Northern Hemisphere: A Temporal and Spatial Analysis

Our analysis demonstrates a temporal and spatial shift in the risk of spring frosts across the Northern Hemisphere. During March, the region experiencing a decrease in spring frost risk shifts towards lower latitudes. This shift is accompanied by a decrease in the total number of spring frost events within the ISF regions located in this region. However, in April and May, the region experiencing a decrease in spring frost risk shifts towards higher latitudes. This shift is accompanied by an increase in the total number of spring frost events within the ISF regions located in this region.
