1. High Moisture Content of the Cargo: It is possible that the cargo had a high moisture content, which could have resulted in shelf heating, ultimately causing damage and mold growth.

2. Submersion of the Container: Considering our experience, we cannot overlook the possibility of the container being submerged. Since the container floor is made of wood, submersion in water could have allowed water to enter the container through the floor. This, in turn, would create a high-moisture environment contributing to cargo shelf heating and mold growth.
