belong here. Alex, Marty, Gloria and Melman, the four friends from New York's Central Park Zoo, are still stranded on Madagascar. They devise a plan to fix an old airplane and fly themselves back home. However, the plane quickly falls apart mid-air and they crash land in Africa. The group is amazed to see other animals like them living in Africa, but they soon realize that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Alex discovers that he has family in Africa, but he's not exactly welcomed with open arms by his father, Zuba, or his father's rival, Makunga. Meanwhile, Marty is reunited with his long-lost herd of zebras and falls in love with a female zebra named Gloria. However, he soon realizes that being part of a large group comes with its own set of challenges. Melman becomes the new witch doctor of a tribe of giraffes and tries to cure their sick leader, Moto Moto. And, Gloria finds herself torn between two male hippos, Moto Moto and her longtime friend, Melman. In the end, the friends unite to save the African wildlife from a group of poachers and prove that they are more than just zoo animals. They also discover that family can come in all shapes and sizes and that home is where the heart is
