In order to tackle the issue of contradictory results, we established a measure for the severity of spring frost in order to assess its impact on crop yield. Our findings indicate that as temperature anomalies increase, so do these severity measures. Additionally, we used linear regression models to demonstrate a positive correlation between yield loss and the three severity measures for corn, soybean, and winter wheat. This suggests that the severity of spring frost events is strongly linked to crop yield loss
