DUCTILE CAST IRON GMS0010002 Rev 3 爱科英文球铁標準SUBJECT Global Ductile Cast Iron Material Standard1 Introduction11 ObjectiveTo provide a uniform material standard that covers all ductile cast iron used in
ical properties and good castability. Ductile iron is also known as nodular iron, SG iron, or spheroidal graphite iron.
l Microstructure – the structure of a material as seen under a microscope.
l Hardness – the resistance of a material to indentation or scratching.
l Mechanical Properties – the properties of a material that describe its ability to withstand applied forces or loads.
l AGCO – a global manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment and related products.
- Materials and Requirements
2.1 Chemical Composition
The chemical composition of the ductile cast iron shall be in accordance with Annex A. The chemical composition shall be determined using standard methods of analysis.
2.2 Mechanical Properties
The mechanical properties of the ductile cast iron shall be in accordance with Annex B. The mechanical properties shall be determined using standard methods of testing.
2.3 Microstructure
The microstructure of the ductile cast iron shall be in accordance with Annex B. The microstructure shall be determined using standard methods of examination.
2.4 Hardness
The hardness of the ductile cast iron shall be in accordance with Annex B. The hardness shall be determined using standard methods of testing.
- Grades and Designations
3.1 Standard Grades
The standard grades of ductile cast iron are D250, D300, D360, D420, and D480. The prefix “D” designates a standard grade.
3.2 Structural Grades
The structural grades of ductile cast iron are designated with the prefix “DX”. These grades are more tightly controlled and meet the parameters of the originally qualified casting in serial production.
- Quality Assurance
The supplier shall provide a certificate of compliance with this standard for each batch of ductile cast iron supplied. The certificate shall include the chemical composition, mechanical properties, microstructure, and hardness of the material.
- Revision History
This standard is subject to revision as necessary to reflect changes in technology, industry practices, or customer needs. The revision history is provided in Annex D.
- Conclusion
This standard provides a uniform material specification for all ductile cast iron used in AGCO products. It ensures that continuous component quality and integrity is maintained and facilitates global part sourcing
