ake use of the complementarities of the economies of China and ASEAN to enhance economic growth, trade and investment, and to create employment opportunities and raise the standard of living of our peoples; RECOGNIZING the importance of economic co-operation as a means to promote regional stability, prosperity and development; DESIRING to further strengthen and deepen economic co-operation in areas such as trade in goods, trade in services, investment, intellectual property rights, e-commerce, and other areas as may be mutually agreed upon; ACKNOWLEDGING the need for special and differential treatment for the newer ASEAN Member States as provided for in the ASEAN-China Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Economic Co-operation; HAVE AGREED AS FOLLOWS
