PFOS, a persistent organic pollutant, has been linked to various adverse health effects. This study examines the impact of PFOS exposure on lipid metabolism in human liver (L-02) cells. Our findings demonstrate that PFOS induces the expression of hsa_circ_0001351, a circular RNA molecule. This induction subsequently affects critical cellular processes such as autophagy, ferroptosis, and lipid peroxidation, ultimately leading to the accumulation of lipids within the L-02 cells. These results provide valuable insights into the mechanisms by which PFOS exposure contributes to lipid metabolism disruption and potential health risks.
