Due to the possibility of heavy rain in the weather forecast, the crew is concerned that rainwater might not be collected in time and enter the sea. Therefore, they requested SPRO to lay down oil booms. SPRO conducted two onboard inspections as per the requests of the captain and the shipowner. However, after evaluation, SPRO deemed that the risks after continuing the cleanup were manageable. Therefore, no oil booms were laid down.
