SPRO Determines Oil Booms Not Needed for Cleanup Operations

Due to the forecasted heavy rainfall, the crew was concerned about the potential risk of rainwater not being collected in a timely manner and entering the sea. As a precautionary measure, they requested SPRO to install oil booms. In response to this concern, SPRO attended the ship twice for inspections, as requested by the captain and shipowner.

After conducting a thorough assessment, SPRO has determined that the risk can be effectively managed without the installation of oil booms. Therefore, it has been concluded that continuing with the cleanup operations poses no significant danger. As a result, the decision has been made not to proceed with the installation of oil booms.
