SPRO Assesses Risk of Rainwater Entering Sea During Cleanup Operations

Due to the forecasted heavy rainfall, the crew is concerned about the potential risk of rainwater not being collected in a timely manner and entering the sea. As a precautionary measure, they have requested SPRO to install oil booms. To address this concern, SPRO attended on-board twice for inspections as per the captain's and shipowner's request.

After a thorough assessment, SPRO has determined that the risk can be effectively managed without the installation of oil booms. Therefore, it has been concluded that continuing with the cleanup operations poses no significant danger. Consequently, the decision has been made not to proceed with the installation of oil booms.
