Significant Saturation Absorption in Gallium Nitride Nanowires at 532 nm and 355 nm
Interestingly, unlike other materials and bulk gallium nitride, significant saturation absorption effects were observed at both 532 nanometers and 355 nanometers in this study. As shown in Table 2, the saturation intensity at 532 nm is comparable to that of oxygen and carbon dioxide. Notably, a maximum transmittance of 150% was measured, surpassing the maximum transmittance reported for oxygen (110%) and carbon dioxide (120%) in articles 16 and 17. This higher transmittance suggests a relative advantage of gallium nitride nanowires for use in saturable absorber devices.
