Landsat-MODIS Data for Land Cover Classification in the Lower Gwydir Catchment, Australia

This dataset provides a valuable resource for studying land cover in the Lower Gwydir Catchment, New South Wales, Australia. It comprises 14 cloud-free Landsat-MODIS image pairs acquired between April 2004 and April 2005.

Location: The Lower Gwydir Catchment study site is located in northern NSW (149.2815E, 29.0855S).

Data:

• Landsat Imagery: All Landsat imagery are TM data acquired by Landsat-5. The Gwydir catchment area covers 5,440 km2 and is represented by 3200 columns by 2720 lines at 25 m resolution.* MODIS Imagery: 14 cloud-free MODIS images are paired with the Landsat data.* Inundation Mask: A separate binary image is provided for masking inundated areas. This mask can be used to evaluate the accuracy of blending algorithms in land cover specific areas.
