Cargo Grab Incident Damages Hatch Cover on Ship

On August 21, 2023, at 22:46hrs, an incident occurred during cargo operations on a ship. An unloading grab, used to remove remaining cargo, landed on the No.3 starboard side hatch cover while closing. This impact caused the hatch cover to jump, displacing its inner part from its track. Consequently, two wheels of the hatch cover were left hanging in the air. Our surveyor was immediately appointed to assess the damage and investigate the incident's cause.
