Colon Cancer Treatment and Pathological Analysis: A Study of XELOX Regimen and LVI/PNI
The patients in the study underwent surgery to remove the colon tumor, followed by adjuvant chemotherapy. The chemotherapy regimen used was XELOX, which consisted of oxaliplatin and capecitabine. The administration of chemotherapy was dependent on the patient's general health, chemotherapy toxicity, and tolerance. Pathologic analysis of the tumor resection specimens was conducted, including evaluation of lymphovascular invasion (LVI) and perineural invasion (PNI). Other factors such as the status of margin involvement, lymph node metastasis, and tumor differentiation were also assessed.
