Cargo Hold Damage Inspection and Repair Update - Vessel Name
Following up on the recent incident, please see below for an update on the cargo hold damage inspection:
On August 19th at approximately 14:20hrs, our surveyor, along with the sub-charterer's surveyor Mr. Shao and TENCO's surveyor Mr. Li, boarded the vessel to assess the reported cargo hold damage.
During the inspection, we interviewed the Captain and Chief Officer, who confirmed they joined the vessel after the incident voyage. They had previously inspected the cargo hold on May 8, 2023, noting a total of 92 damages across all cargo holds.
We collected relevant documentation, including photos, the Letter of Protest (LOP), and the stevedore damage report. Due to the remaining cargo in the hold, some damages remain hidden and require further assessment.
Next Steps:
- Our surveyor, accompanied by a repair team technician, will re-board the vessel on the morning of August 20th to fully assess the damage extent.* The vessel's estimated time of completion (ETC) is the night of August 20th, with arrival at Yantai Anchorage anticipated on the morning of August 21st.* Repair work is expected to commence on August 22nd, allowing time for necessary formalities, material preparation, and spare parts procurement.
As instructed, our surveyor will remain on-site throughout the repair process at Yantai Anchorage.
We will continue to provide updates as they become available. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
