Negation of "We Played the Game at School"

We did not play the game at school.

Despite our initial plans to play the game during our school hours, we were unable to do so due to unforeseen circumstances. Perhaps it was due to the heavy rain that day, or maybe it was because we had an unexpected fire drill that interrupted our activities. Whatever the reason, we were unable to play the game at school.

It was disappointing for all of us, as we had been looking forward to playing the game for weeks. We had spent hours preparing for it, and even brought our own equipment to school. However, we had to pack everything up and go home without having played a single round.
