Gas Bottle Usage and Maintenance: Master's Limited Knowledge

As the Master had only recently joined the vessel, he had limited knowledge about the maintenance and usage of the Gas bottles. According to his understanding, the acetylene had been completely depleted prior to the accident. The Oxygen bottle, on the other hand, had been utilized by the repair team on August 29 during the ship's repairs onshore. Following its use, the Oxygen bottle was returned to the cage located aft of the engine room.
