High-Power 2.05 μm Continuous-Wave Laser Operation with Tm,Ho:GdVO4 Crystals

Researchers have successfully demonstrated high-power continuous-wave (cw) laser operation at 2.05 μm using two Tm,Ho:GdVO4 crystals. By employing the crystals under identical cooling conditions, they achieved a remarkable output power of 20.5 W with excellent beam quality, characterized by an M2 value of less than 1.2. This development highlights the potential of Tm,Ho:GdVO4 crystals for generating high-power, high-quality laser emission in the 2 μm spectral region, which holds significant promise for applications in medicine, sensing, and materials processing.
