Abstract: With the development of data analysis technology, data is increasingly widely used in various fields. However, the phenomenon of data fabrication also follows, which has brought serious harm to social and economic development. This paper conducts in-depth research on the concept, impact, reasons, and countermeasures of data fabrication. The research shows that data fabrication not only affects the accuracy and fairness of decision-making but also undermines market competition, damages consumer interests, and affects social trust. The reasons for data fabrication mainly include interest-driven, lax regulation, and lagging technical means. To respond to data fabrication, it is necessary to strengthen supervision, improve technical means, and enhance social credibility.
